2018 Hospital System Industry Group Forum: Productive Aging - Tools for an Efficient Workforce

Statistics show people of retirement age are staying in the workforce longer. Whether for financial reasons, health needs, or the desire to contribute to society, today’s workforce is aging and in turn, paving the way for an increase in short- and long-term disabilities. This can be especially challenging for employers within hospital systems due to the high-physicality of jobs, long shifts, and compliance demands. How can employers best use their programs to leverage well-being strategies amongst their multi-generational workforce? What solutions create the biggest impact?

This session shed light on solutions to the big questions employers face in the midst of the aging workforce. We reviewed the results from Prudential’s aging workforce study and offered practical considerations employers can implement to create a productive, efficient, and happy workforce. We also discussed a case study from one company who operationalized these findings to create success with their aging employee population.
