2019 Hospital System Industry Group Forum: Understanding Disability and Injury Risk Among Healthcare Workers
Occupational injury and illness rates are higher among healthcare employees than any other private sector. While hospitals still experience the greatest number of injuries, employees of ambulatory care sites are also experiencing increasing rates of injury. Musculoskeletal injuries remain a major concern, with lifting being the most frequent cause of injury.
Using an analysis of 10 years of California worker’s compensation claims, this session explored trends in healthcare injuries, and highlighted where targeted interventions are likely to have the most impact. In addition, treatment of healthcare workers were compared to best practice guidelines to see if patients are receiving the right care at the right time. The panel also provided insight on leveraging data to make adjustments to your programs.
This webinar qualifies for the following CEUs: 1 CPDM, 1 PHR, and 1 SHRM.
