2020 Webinar: Employer Obligations to Victims of Domestic Violence

Employees who are victims of domestic violence or sexual assault, or have a family member in that situationmay be entitled to employment protectionsThese lesser-known protections could include the right to take a leave of absence and/or request a workplace accommodation.

In this webinar, we will provide an overview of the states that have such laws, the salient provisions of the leaves, and the types of workplace accommodations that must be considered by employers. In addition, we will share statistics from Matrix’s national database showing utilization of such protections, and discuss our observations and conclusions about the data.  We’ll also examine the potential for underreporting the need for such leaves, and recommendations for employers to support and encourage employees in such situations to come forward.
