Module 1: Conducting the Interactive Process

In this module, you will receive an overview of the ADA Accommodation Process Microcredential Course, discover how to navigate the course content and access resources, and learn how to conduct the interactive process. This module will take approximately one hour to complete.

Module 2: Making Accommodations

Begin self-paced component package. Welcome to Module 2! In this module, you will review different types of accommodations and how they are handled. You will also explore how job analyses and job descriptions are used in the accommodation process; what considerations employers should — and should not — make around undue hardship determinations; what role return to work and transitional duty play in the process; and how to effectively monitor accommodations. Finally, you'll walk through accommodation considerations for both occupational and non-occupational injuries. This module will take approximately 45 minutes to complete.

Module 3: Communication and Documentation

Begin self-paced component package. Welcome to Module 3! In this module, you will explore communication and documentation best practices. You’ll learn how to plan and implement a robust policy, create effective accommodation processes and forms, and implement best practices for collecting medical information to support an accommodation request. This module will take approximately 30 minutes to complete.

Module 4: Tracking, Managing, and Monitoring Accommodations

Begin self-paced component package. Welcome to Module 4! In this module, you will review methods to successfully track, manage, and monitor accommodations. You will also learn how to establish metrics that help evaluate the efficacy of your accommodation program. This module will take approximately 20 minutes to complete.
